What we do

The Expanded Learning Opportunities Action Team wants young people to have consistent and high-quality after-school and summer programs to help them reach their full potential. We are focused on building a system guided by School’s Out Washington’s Quality Improvement efforts by leveraging direct service funding from public and private funders, coordinating with key system partners, supporting data and evaluation, and engaging leadership from our elected officials and other community leaders.

Our Priority Strategies:

  • Identify and create consistent, stable funding streams for after-school and expanded learning opportunities, including public commitment to after-school and expanded learning opportunities.
  • Ensure programs adopt the Statewide Youth Program Quality standards and have access to professional development and other capacity-building supports for organizations of all sizes to be able to meet standards.
  • Enhance and improve partnership systems at the community, school, district, and regional level to improve student outcomes.
