School’s Out Washington published the King County Out-of-School Time Landscape Scan by BERK Consulting with funding from Road Map Project Region Race to the Top, Puget Sound Educational Service District. The first of-its-kind for King County, this report illustrates what we know about current supply and gaps in out-of-school time programs across King County, barriers to access for youth and families, and system-wide needs to support access to high-quality out-of-school time programs, as well as current funding sources for programs in King County.

The scan includes a full report as well as an online mapping tool that provides a visual representation exhibiting demographics and educational indicators across different geographies within King County. The landscape scan and mapping tool are designed as resources to assist in understanding the geography of poverty and access to out-of-school time programming across King County. These resources help programs, school districts, funders, and community leaders identify gaps and come together around strategies to meet the needs of underserved youth and families in King County.
