Road Map Project to Host Regional Alignment Convening
Renton, Washington – The Road Map Project, in partnership with the Community Center for Education Results (CCER) and the Community Leadership Team (CLT) is hosting the Regional Alignment Convening on February 29, 2024, at the Renton Pavilion Events Center. The event, previously called Education Results Networking (ERN), will be the first in-person convening for the Road Map Project since 2020.
This Convening will center the work of the Road Map Project CLT and their efforts to recognize, uplift, and celebrate the cherished Blackness of Road Map Project region communities. Earlier this year, the CLT authored and published their Black Community Statement of Love, which is a living document that reflects the love and care that is Blackness. The Convening will center the Statement and what it represents. “The past three years have been full of hardships, growth, and joy,” says Carlina Brown-Banks, Deputy Director. “We are eager to come out the storm shelter as an organization.”
Attendees will have opportunities to network, hear addresses from community and organization leaders, and engage in table discussions. CCER will also open dialogue around their initiatives and activities, and how they have modeled centering community and leading with race.
