Maria Gonzalez supports Opportunity Youth initiatives with partners across the Road Map Project, such as the King County Reengagement Network. In her previous role, she worked directly with youth and families of color to connect them to opportunities within the employment, education, and primarily the reengagement system. Maria led the Latinx Youth Reengagement project and worked on the Youth Healing Project, both youth-centered projects. Her passion comes from having shared experiences with opportunity youth in the Road Map region and wishes to continue closing the gaps and barriers encountered by young people of color in the education system. Her favorite place to be in the Road Map Project region is the elote stand in her hometown of White Center.
