Hannelore Ferber Makhani

Reengagement System Manager
King County Department of Community and Human Services

Hanne brings public and private partners together with a focus on strengthening the King County Reengagement System, a network of education and employment programs serving disconnected 16 to 24-year-olds. Originally from Ecuador, she migrated to the U.S. at age 17. Hanne received degrees from Boise State University and the University of Washington, and has worked in government (federal and local), nonprofits, schools, and even in the private sector!  Most recently, she worked for the YMCA of Greater Seattle, where she provided executive leadership to branch operations as well as a large portfolio of youth development and education programs. Hanne’s family shares their home with a couple of rescued beagles, with whom they can usually be found walking through the trails at Lincoln Park.
