The Opportunity Youth Advisory Group works to improve outcomes for 16- to 24-year-olds who have not completed a high school or college credential and are not employed. This multisector group came together in 2014 to learn about local opportunity youth, discuss the needs of the Road Map Project region and develop an action plan focused on building a coordinated, robust reengagement system. Significant progress was made in the four main areas of our action plan: improving supply, coordination, quality, and access. In early 2017, we developed a refined action plan to guide ongoing efforts.
To support regional alignment, we advise on efforts such as Reconnect to Opportunity, United Way of King County’s Reconnecting Youth initiative, and Generation Work.
